Carrie Goettsch, DC
Dr. Goettsch, who started Brighton Hill Chiropractic, PC in 1981, is a 1980 graduate of Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, Iowa and a 1976 graduate of Ithaca College (BFA music) where she majored in voice and developed a love for composing and arranging music.
Besides overseeing the day to day business responsibilities and caring for patients at BHC, Dr. Goettsch is currently president of the central NY chapter (District 12) of the New York State Chiropractic Association (NYSCA) and was a member of the Excellus BCBS Chiropractic Advisory Committee for many years. Dr. Goettsch is also certified in electrodiagnostics (nerve conduction and EMG testing), performs no-fault chiropractic independent exams and is a guest speaker to health care providers and other groups regarding health and chiropractic.
Dr. Goettsch strives for ongoing cooperation between insurers, primary care providers and chiropractors. The safety, efficacy and patient satisfaction data supporting the benefits of chiropractic care (spinal manipulation) has the potential to create significant public health cost savings when evidence based guidelines for acute low back pain are more universally implemented. Dr. Goettsch would like to see this happen in her professional lifetime!
Career highlights include volunteering chiropractic services in the Dominican Republic on a 9-day mission trip in 1993, serving as treating chiropractor with the 15th Maccabiah Games in Israel in 1997 and with the Maccabiah Pan American Games in Chile in 2003, and singing at the White House in Washington, D.C. in December 2002, 2004 and 2008 as a member of the Master’s Touch Chorale. Dr. Goettsch also sings with the Syracuse Chorale and the (Syracuse Symphony Orchestra) SSO Pops Chorus.
Dr. Goettsch and husband Marty, a psych nurse, have three grown daughters and reside on 28 acres in LaFayette, NY with Weimaraners Heidi and Alex.
