Syracuse Neurofeedback
Anne Bates, RN, MS, NP, Barry Bates, and Priscilla Young

Anne Bates (a psychiatric nurse practitioner), Barry Bates (previously a nuclear physicist), and Priscilla Young (a human development professional) are certified in neurofeedback. Neurofeedback is a specialized form of biofeedback for brainwave activity to promote clear and focused thinking. The treatments are painless, fun and last @ 40 minutes each. The treatment consists of sticking electrodes to the head and earlobes and “playing” specially designed computer games with your mind.

Neurofeedback is considered experimental by insurance companies and is not routinely a covered service, however, studies to date have shown neurofeedback to be effective for Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI), ADD (attention deficit disorder), ADHD (attention deficit hyperactivity disorder), PTSD (post traumatic stree disorder), depression, anxiety, sleep disorders, learning disabilities and migraine. Newer research including neurofeedback in the treatment of Autism is also very promising. For more information please call Syracuse Neurofeedback at (315) 492-3789.
