Goettsch, D.C.
Initially starting a chiropractic
practice in the Syracuse University area in 1981, Dr. Goettsch moved
to Brighton Hill Chiropractic’s present location December 1990. Dr. Goettsch
is a 1980 graduate of Palmer College of Chiropractic (Davenport, Iowa)
and a 1976 graduate of Ithaca College (BFA music). She grew up in DeWitt,
N.Y. attending the Jamesville-DeWitt and Amherst, N.Y. school districts.
Certified in Neurodiagnostic
Testing and CPR for Healthcare Professionals, Dr. Goettsch is a member
of the NYS Chiropractic Association and the Excellus Chiropractic Advisory
Committee.
Career highlights include
volunteering chiropractic services in the Dominican Republic on a 9 day
mission trip in 1993, serving as treating chiropractor with the 15th
Maccabiah Games in Israel in 1997 and with the Maccabiah Pan American
Games in Chile in 2003, and singing at the White House in Washington,
D.C. in December 2002 and 2004 as a member of the Master’s Touch Chorale.
Dr. Goettsch, husband Marty (a psych nurse) and their three daughters
reside in LaFayette, NY.
Nathan
Hamm, D.C.
Dr. Nathan Hamm, a 2004
graduate of New York Chiropractic College, has joined the professional
staff at Brighton Hill Chiropractic, PC. Prior to joining the staff at
Brighton Hill Chiropractic, Dr. Hamm practiced in a large multi-specialty
spine clinic in the NYC area, in a patient centered environment where
innovative medical care, physical therapy and chiropractic care were
provided collaboratively.
Raised in the Syracuse
area, Dr. Hamm earned a Bachelor of Science degree (and the coveted Male
Athlete of the Year award his senior year) at Southern Adventist University
in Collegedale, TN. While an undergrad, Dr. Hamm was a member of Gym-Masters,
a gymnastic team with an anti-drug message, providing half-time entertainment
at NBA basketball games. In his final year of chiropractic education,
Dr. Hamm interned and provided chiropractic care at Monroe Community
Hospital in Rochester, NY and Oswego Health Center in Oswego, NY.
Robert
Ward ,
D.C.
Dr. Robert Ward, a 2008 graduate of NY Chiropractic College, joined
the professional staff at Brighton Hill Chiropractic in October 2008.
Dr. Ward was an Academic All American at SUNY Brockport. He played all
four years on the men's basketball team, as a 6’3” small
forward. His undergraduate degree (Bachelor of Science in Exercise Physiology)
was awarded in 2000. Dr. Ward graduated, magna cum laude, from New York
Chiropractic College in August 2008 and during his last year of chiropractic
school interned in a sports medicine facility in Buffalo, NY. Dr. Ward
is certified in Graston Technique®, an interdisciplinary treatment
used by nearly 5000 clinicians, including athletic trainers, chiropractors,
hand therapists, occupational and physical therapists, which has been
clinically proven to help muscle related injuries that have failed to
respond to other therapies. Dr. Ward resides in Liverpool, NY. His fiancée,
Sara, is a teacher in the East Syracuse Minoa school district.

Anne
Bates, R.N., N.P. and Barry Bates
Anne Bates, R.N., N.P.
(psychiatric nurse practitioner) and Barry Bates (previously a nuclear
physicist) are certified in neurofeedback. Neurofeedback is a specialized
form of biofeedback for brainwave activity to promote clear and focused
thinking. The treatments are painless, fun and last @ 30 minutes each. The
treatment consists of sticking electrodes to the head and earlobes and
“playing” specially designed computer games with your mind.
Neurofeedback is considered
experimental by insurance companies and is not routinely a covered service
however studies to date have shown neurofeedback to be effective for
ADD (attention deficit disorder), ADHD (attention deficit hyperactivity
disorder), and some forms of depression, learning disabilities and migraine. For

Deb has years of experience
with us and expertly handles our appointment scheduling, billing,
inventory and account reconciliation. Questions about scheduling, third
party billing, payments received and balances due should be directed
to Deb, who cares deeply about helping things run smoothly for our office
and our patients.

Andrea Massa
Andrea, our treasured chiropractic assistant and front desk receptionist, is a 2008 graduate of Bryant and Stratton with an Associate degree in Medical Assisting. Andrea keeps the front desk and appointment book running smoothly, helps our patients and staff navigate through the maze of requisite paperwork, assists with patient exams, develops x-rays, performs phalangeal bone density screening and helps maintain inventory. Andrea is the pleasant, caring person on the other side of the phone when you call the office and she is available to answer any questions you may have about our office.

Diane Mertens
A dependable and appreciated
employee of Brighton Hill Chiropractic since 1983, Diane handles bill
paying, payroll and general accounting activities.
Administrative
Assistant:
Thea Smith
Thea has been a trusted member of our staff since 2003. Thea works part-time
as an administrative assistant behind the scenes, keeping our paperwork
and files up to date and organized. As a Pastor’s wife and prayer
expert, she not only does all of her work diligently but also serves as
our spiritual staff “mom”. While the office staff express a
collective sigh of relief to have Thea do the work no one else seems to
find the time to do, she thanks us for her flex-job that gives her a little
diversion/vacation from her 24-7 other responsibilities. That's what
you call a win-win! |
